Our goal as a small press is to introduce and promote high-quality English translations of literature from Central, Eastern, and Southeastern regions of Europe, an area with a rich, multicultural literary tradition still largely unknown to the English-speaking world. By harnessing new developments in print-on-demand publishing and nurturing a network of fine literary translators and editors, we are establishing a platform where these writers can showcase their work, and we can bring it to English readers for the first time. With the support of local embassies, universities, and other organizations, we aim to turn Washington, DC into a cultural hub for literary translation.
